Collection: Beginners' Jewellery Silversmithing Course

Learn the skills of jewellery silversmithing on one of our inspiring 6, 8 or 10 week beginners' courses.

Perfect for complete beginners, or anyone who has previously completed a one-day workshop, this hands-on course will teach you the essential skills needed to create beautiful handmade jewellery in metal. Working in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment, you'll receive plenty of individual guidance from your tutor, Mireille, an experienced and qualified jeweller and silversmith, helping you build confidence as you develop your skills.

You'll begin by learning the fundamental techniques of jewellery making and silversmithing, including piercing (sawing), filing, annealing and texturing. You'll then progress to making your first sterling silver ring, learning how to measure and size your ring, solder, form, shape and finish your piece. The course fee includes the sterling silver needed to make your first ring.

As your confidence grows, you'll be encouraged to explore your own ideas and designs while developing further skills and techniques. Depending on your interests and progress, these may include granulation, stone setting, sand casting and more..

Unlike many beginners' courses that focus solely on set projects, this course gives you the opportunity to develop your own creative ideas with expert guidance throughout. With a maximum of just 5 - 6 students per class, you'll benefit from plenty of individual tuition and support as you develop your skills.

This beginners' jewellery making and silversmithing course provides the perfect foundation for starting your jewellery-making journey, within the warm, friendly and creative environment of a local jewellery workshop.
